My mom taught me this song as my choir director. The tune comes in my head again and again when I'm excited about something wonderful going on...To God be all glory!
This song by Fanny J. Crosby and William H. Doane shares the Gospel beautifully, and leads to wonderful discussion of the undeserved grace of God. This is an excellent piece to end a program.
By Kelly Wlillard
Make me a servant, humble and meek
Lord, let me lift up those who are weak.
And may the prayer of my heart always be
Make me a servant, make me a servant,
Make me a servant today.
The three verses of Away in the Manger are so sweet with sign language, especially the last. This is a song that first graders and above can learn, and preschool and kindergarteners could learn one verse, the first or last very well, too! I pray it blesses all who learn and share it. Jesus's love is the sweetest thing I've found!
